About Samantha Persoff
Serving Individual Adults, Couples, Families and Children, Since 2002
I’m Samantha Persoff, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Somatic Experience Practitioner (SEP), and NeuroAffective Touch Practitioner (NATP) based in Los Angeles, California - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. When we feel anxious or sad, frustrated or just stuck, it helps to talk to an attuned and attentive listener in a confidential environment. My approach takes into account unconscious influences, which can limit us and cause suffering in ways we are unaware of. Rather than giving advice, I see my role as a collaborator, helping you to discover more of yourself.

I began my career as an artist; and an art and special education teacher. I have a Masters of Education from Queen's College, CUNY in 1991. I officially began studying psychotherapy in 1997. I completed my Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2000; and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2002.

My awareness of the power of psychotherapy began at a much younger age. All 3 of my parents were Licensed Clinical Social Workers and my early life was suffused with ideas and concepts around self-awareness and its power to heal.
In 1998, I found ecstatic dance and other movement modalities which offered their own forms of deep listening to the parts of ourselves carrying the stories of early trauma and life experiences. This guided me to recognize the need and power of including the body in the healing process. Talk therapy alone is not enough. On an individual basis I include awareness and support of the body in multiple ways to create whole person healing, which can include art and movement.

I have training in behavior intervention, psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as certifications in: Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing; Kathy Kain's Touch Work; Steve Terrell and Kathy Kain's Somatic Resilience and Regulation; and Stephen Porges' Safe and Sound Protocol. In addition, I am a part of Aline LaPierre's NeuroAffective Touch training team.
